The Association of Governance, Risk and Compliance (AGRC)

Local professionals can now receive international training in Portuguese on AML, KYC, CDD and more.

LONDON, United Kingdom – The London Governance and Compliance Academy (LGCA) has joined forces with The Association of Governance, Risk & Compliance (formerly IGCA) and Taxativa, a boutique educational and consulting firm based out of São Paulo, to deliver comprehensive training programmes in Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Client (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Compliance to Brazilian professionals.

These courses, which are a first of their kind in the Brazilian market, will be backed by AGRC certification and provide a solid foundation for local professionals looking to enter the compliance industry or strengthen their companies’ AML, compliance, and on-boarding functions.

Mateo Jarrin Cuvi, who serves as Global Manager for Partners and Media at AGRC, said: “Following our association’s unwavering goal of being readily available to professionals in all corners of the globe, this agreement with Taxativa should open plenty of doors for us in Latin America’s largest market and help fuel our growth in a region that can only benefit from these types of certifications and training programmes. We very much look forward to working with Taxativa in making these services available to local professionals and building a strong group of Brazilian members for the association.”

The courses, which focus on the fundamentals of KYC/CDD and a risk-based approach to AML,  will be delivered by LGCA as self-paced, online courses. Furthermore, these offerings will be available solely in Portuguese in an effort to better cater to this extensive and growing market.

Taxativa’s  Content Director and Founder, Ronaldo Apelbaum, said: “These days, compliance is a very relevant concern for Brazilian companies, and local professionals just can´t find accessible and globally recognized training for AML, KYC and CDD here. In order to introduce effective knowledge on these topics to the country, all training content has been translated into Portuguese and adapted to cover local Brazilian regulations. This is a great opportunity for professionals and companies to reach a higher level of compliance knowledge, one that is endorsed by an internationally recognized organisation and CPD credits.”

Founded in 2015 by Ronaldo Apelbaum, a tax lawyer and professor with close to twenty-five years of experience, Taxativa is an educational and consulting firm that provides training for professionals and companies in compliance, data management, and local and international taxation. The company’s expertise also includes the preparation of material and practical exercises for MBAs courses across Brazil.
